install under XP (and Windows 7) 06/14/11 at 05:19:28   Dear All   I'm trying to get OpenDX running under Windows XP and also Windows 7.   In the former I am running under Exceed and in the latter the XWin server supplied via cygwin.   In both cases I can get the Data Explorer window up and can specify a simple grid file via the Data Prompter Window but I get no further when I try to select the 'visualise data' button     On XP I obtained a windows security alert re dxexec and dxui. I made changes to the firewall settings for both of these but now the Data Prompter simply hangs when I try to visualise data   On Windows 7 the Control Panels appear and disappear quickly again after the visualise data step.   Is there anything obvious I should check or set?

joelr OpenDX Forum Administrator Got Viz? Posts: 388	Re: install under XP (and Windows 7) Reply #1 - 06/14/11 at 11:29:22   You should first try to run some of the sample programs. That will tell you if the installation is ok or not.   --Joel

joelr OpenDX Forum Administrator Got Viz? Posts: 388	Re: install under XP (and Windows 7) Reply #3 - 06/15/11 at 03:36:30   I have seen this behavior before. By just clicking "Visualize" again, I was able to get it to work OK. See if that works for you.
