Hi and welcome to OpenDX!

One option: when you get the initial OpenDX menu, choose "Import Data...".
This offers a generic way to visualize your data. (I never use this myself - I
prefer to use the visual editor.) If you're going to do much with OpenDX, you'll
definitely want to read the user docs - at least, the Quick Start guide. I'd also
recommend playing with some of the sample programs.

Cheers,
Joel

thank you for your answer, but I already reach that far, I mean I did the tutorials and everything, but when it comes to dx file a new screen show up and the visual editor starts, that seems to I need to edit it myself in order to be able to visualize the file.
you mentioned that you use visual editor what is this? as all what I need to do is to visualize my data so I wish if I can do it the easy way.

In the simplest case, your .dx file is ready to view as is.
Assuming that is the case here, you can view your data
with a net of just 2 modules: Import and Image.

0. In the opening dx menu, click "New Visual Program".
The editor opens.

1. Select "Import" in the left-hand panel, then click
on the editor canvas. This creates an Import module instance.

2. Do the same with "Image".

3. Create a connection between the output of Import (its bottom tab)
to the input of Image (its leftmost top tab). To create a connection,
drag the mouse from one tab to the other.

4. Double click on the Import module to open its dialog box. Enter the
name of your .dx file in the filename box. Then click OK to close
the dialog.

5. Execute the net. (Execute->Execute once).

Good luck,
Joel

Thank you for the detailed instructions, you saved me lot of time. Now when I execute once, I am getting an error message : missing data colors component is missing. (I am just using the dx files from the tutorials. )
one last thing, when I try to open dx file directly "from import data", a new window appear and disappear quickly without even know what is the content of that window.

Try running it through AutoColor before Image. I'm just guessing here.
If that doesn't work, we'll have to dig deeper.
The window that appears and disappears is probably due
to the same error (no colors).

I already tried this, I used auto color before image and a new error message appears asking for the input file, I am not sure what to fill in there, I tried different thing but the error message persist. I assumed that the input file will be the same dx file but it did not work out.

If the file is not too big, perhaps the easiest thing is to post it so I can
take a look at it.

I am not sure how to attach the file?
there is no link to attach it!
and cut and past it here make no sense (it is just a data file)

or if you have a ready template for the module (how to read dx file ) please send it to my email (jtalla@gmail.com)

do you have  a private email so I can send the file to you directly?
Thank you
