Missing sys.h
11/17/10 at 05:05:56

I am trying to install opendx on suse 11.3. I have tried installing it from the source code but have no linux/sys.h file.
The config.log line says:

conftest.c:186:38: fatal error: linux/sys.h: No such file or directory
compilation terminated.

I have read elsewhere about linking to it if it is in the wrong place, but I don't even seem to have it anywhere.

It also says that my ImageMagick package is incomplete. I have installed both ImageMagic and ImageMagic-devel. What else do I need?

I am relatively new to this kind of thing so any help would be greatly appreciated

Hello,

there's no need to compile OpenDX under openSUSE 11.3.
Just install the packages dx, dx-data, dx-doc and maybe dx-devel which are available in the standard repositories. I did it a few seconds ago on one machine and it works.

If you really need to recompile from source, check my post there :
