Hi all,
I managed to derive a *.deb OpenDX-4.4.4 package for any Ubuntu system 8.x-9.04, 64-bit (AMD64).
After I managed installing OpenDX from sources on a 64-bit 8.04.1 server (which got updated to 8.04.4), I build a *.deb package using checkinstall and successfully installed it in less than one minute on my 9.04 system. (I only needed to install motif3 using apt-get.)
The bug that is shipped with Ubuntu <=9.04 64-bit version is resolved for the latest Ubuntu 9.10 and its 64-bit OpenDX build, but if you are using Ubuntu <= 9.04, this package works.
I am not aware if publishing the file on any web-host is legal or not, therefore I am not publishing any link to the file here.
Is http://www.opendx.org interested in hosting the file or so?
(I have private, reliable hosting space too.)
